Dr. Claw here, about to hit I-77 for a much awaited road trip/vacation.
But before I go, I got some things to let you know:
– I lost a “backup” hard drive recently; 3TB down the toilet. A good deal of the original WAVs representing the “untouched” vinyl recordings of a number of the entries here (and others I have yet to post) are gone, but I got FLACs of all that stuff saved off. All’s good otherwise.
– I had to go back and correct a couple of entries: BRG 12 – Summer Sounds and BRK 5 – Contemporary Motion. The former was corrected because while on another road trip I heard that the sound was incredibly “washed out” compared to other Bruton rips I’d made, due to being a little too overzealous with noise reduction. A lot of those ’79 Bruton releases have a good deal of healthy “hiss” baked in, and it got wiped out in the transfer. The new take (taken from the original vinyl recording) has less noise reduction as a result. I’ve corrected both the MP3s and FLACs, and they have the same links. Check ’em out if you already have. The latter had some “unacceptable” noise and clicks on a couple of tracks that I didn’t know how to correct until I learned of the magic of “Auto Heal”. I did not apply noise reduction though, to keep it in line with the original release. As before, they have the same exact links for both MP3 and FLAC. So if you’ve got these, go back and check ’em out.
– Got a couple more Bruton leftovers to post. You may have heard them elsewhere on the net, but not without skips or scratches. Be on the lookout.
– Got something real cool coming in the next “phase”.
Stay tuned… you might find something you like.
